Creeks Restoration and Water Quality Improvement Division | Program History In November 2000, the City of Santa Barbara’s voters approved Measure B, an increase in the transient occupancy tax rate from 10% to 12% effective January 2001. All proceeds from the tax increase are restricted to use in the newly created Creeks Restoration and Water Quality Improvement Program.
Our Mission
The mission of the Creeks Restoration/Water Quality Improvement Program is to improve creek and ocean water quality and restore natural creek systems with the implementation of storm water and urban runoff pollution reduction, creek restoration and community education programs. Program Revenue In Fiscal Year 2009 (July 2008 through June 2009), Measure B funds plus interest generated $2,759,793. For information on the current budget, click here.
